COLLECTIVE ACTION TABLE

JUSTICE REFORM & PUBLIC SAFETY

Structural racism has given rise to juvenile and criminal justice systems that threaten the freedom and lives of too many boys and men of color, and people of color in general. Our Justice Reform & Public Safety Collective Action Table (CAT) supports the work of advocates and communities to advance justice reform and create policies that keeps our son, brothers, and their families free, safe, and thriving.

Justice Reform & Public Safety CAT members have committed funding to spur much-needed reforms that address police accountability, juvenile justice, mass incarceration, and the overall negative impact of criminal-justice system exposure. Their investments bolster the development of programs, policies, and actions that hold promise to change systems and support community-based initiatives.

Early initiatives include supporting the National Police Reform Resource Hub, the Communities Transforming Policing Fund, a pooled fund to close youth prisons, sentencing reform, and efforts to accelerate the release of individuals sentenced under state juvenile-life-without-parole laws.
