COLLECTIVE ACTION TABLE

SCHOOL DISCIPLINE
& HEALTHY CLIMATE

Our School Discipline & Healthy School Climate Collective Action Table (CAT) coordinates strategies and invests in a variety of efforts to create healthy, nurturing, and equitable education systems for boys and young men of color. Our members work to accelerate the implementation of pedagogical approaches and school-discipline policies that reduce suspensions, expulsions, school-based arrests, and juvenile court referrals, while also improving educational opportunity and outcomes.

School Discipline CAT members have committed to funding entities that address multiple angles of the work, ranging from grassroots organizations and advocacy groups to legal advocates, researchers, and teacher-support groups working toward proven policy changes. CAT members have also worked to develop narratives that show why school-discipline reform is good for educators and to incentivize government, academicians, media, and other necessary stakeholders to prioritize school-discipline reform.
