Our mission is driven through the pursuit of four strategic goals:
We provide information, connections, and opportunities to help funders make deeper, sustained investments in the success of boys and men of color.
We foster peer connections and shared learning to lower the transaction cost of philanthropic collaboration. By engaging experts, field leaders, community stakeholders, and policymakers we help to better align the work of funders and the BMOC field.
We leverage the power of our foundation CEO network, providing a platform for executive leaders to use their fiscal assets and reputational capital to support the BMOC movement.
We help funders and the BMOC field promote asset-based narratives that have the power to change beliefs about boys and men of color and move decision makers toward actions that eliminate structural barriers to their success.
We advance these goals through three primary mechanisms:
Funder workgroups providing our members opportunities for shared learning and a platform for strategic collaboration.
Convening to connect philanthropy to the field of nonprofit organizations working on the frontlines.
Critical discussions about current trends in the BMOC field during our semiannual membership meetings.
